I agree with roygu. Plus, the big guys in charge of the BCS don't want half the stadium to look like this:

An undefeated Southern Florida? Serious, week 7 last year they were #2 in the nation but by seasons end they couldn't finish top 25 in any poll. I have not been paying attention but what indicators are there they have potential to geaux undefeated?

Penn St and BYU at this juncture show there is potential through the season but I just don't see any one on that list (at this time) that can play LSU and finish all 4 quarters.

Serious, at this point I just want to get through this weekend and a hard week of getting ready for the swamp. Everyone else will define how the season will unfold, we need to focus on our own season and play out what our very talented staff and players have to offer.

No doubt everyone on that list now has a fire burning over that gift from the Beavers. Now the rest of the nation gets to play ball. Life is good.

Great post and dead on. The "gift" OSU gave the country last night means each team that now is in the middle of the race better be more concerned with their "next game" rather than what South Florida is doing. Everybody's "biggest game" is their next one.

More importantly, last nights loss will probably guarantee usc a spot in the rose(let's be honest, the PAC-1 is still their conference to lose) against probably Penn state or, my greatest wish, ohio st (who could still win the big 10) which wold make it the most horrible, no-one-cares rematch in the history of the bcs.(don't say it wont happen, the rose bowl will pick a big 10/pac 1 matchup until you pry it from their cold dead hands) Then maybe the committee would realize the rose bowl is so senile that it shouldn't be able to make decisions that affect college football and we will finally get a playoff system.

    A man can dream....

If LSU makes it with only 1 loss.. I can't see anyone holding them out of the game. You don't hold the defending national champs out of the game. That's a cardinal sin.

I've had my eye on Penn State for awhile now. They've played well. If they can get a couple of big wins, they are the threat in the Big 10 I think.
