That's exactly what I am saying. Would you really rather be in a BCS bowl matched up against Louisville or N. Illinois?? It's the matchup that matters. I think in '05 when LSU beat the crap out of Miami in the Chick Fil A Bowl, that was a good win against what was, at the time, thought to be one of the great programs in America. I like the matchup with Clemson. The contrasts between the two teams makes it an interesting matchup. None of this prevents LSU from achieving every one of their goals next year.

    It's much ado about nothing.

I know the feeling. I actually pled our case on a USC forum back then.

There's an even stronger argument. Our resume was way beyond & above any other teams'. I forget if it was 4 or more teams we had beat that ended up being ranked on the final poll.

If thats the case the same thing could be said for every sec champion that didn't make it to the NC game.

Go ahead and ask any one of those kids playing college football, if they would like to play in a bowl game or just wrap up the season and go home. To you it's pointless.....to them,(which are the only ones that it really matters) it's a reward for a long season.

That's not what Guido is saying...he is saying the only one that means anything is the BCS championship game.

    the BCS really is retarded

Here's your Top 10 teams in the AP and Coaches.Poll (taking out Ohio State):

    Title Game
    1/1 ND
    2/2 Bama

    Fiesta
    3/4 Florida
    3/4 Oregon

    Sugar
    5/5 Georgia
    6/6 K State

    Rose
    7/8 LSU
    7/8 Stanford

    Orange
    9/9 Texas A&M
    10/10 South Carolina

A&M and S Carolina haven't played this year, but if you don't want SEC v SEC in the Orange (which was fine for the title game last year), or if you think it's too many SEC teams in all, then you're next in line would be:
    11/11 Oklahoma
    12/12 Florida State
    13/13 Clemson

Instead, this is what we got:

    Title Game
    1/1 ND
    2/2 Bama

    Fiesta
    3/4 Oregon
    6/6 K State

    Sugar
    3/4 Florida
18/21 Louisville (why not 13/13 Clemson or 11/11 Oklahoma?)

    Rose
    7/8 Stanford
23/27 Wisconsin (why not 11/11 Oklahoma or one of the SEC teams like 5/5 Georgia, 7/8 LSU, 9/9 Texas A&M or 10/10 South Carolina?)

    Orange
    12/12 Florida State
16/16 Northern Illinois (why not 11/11 Oklahoma or one of the SEC teams like 5/5 Georgia, 7/8 LSU, 9/9 Texas A&M, or 10/10 South Carolina?)

You mean like when Alabama got steamrolled by that "worthless" Utah team. However I will admit the sorry state of college football this year allowed this to happen. I don't think this NIU team is the Utah that beat Alabama, the TCU that beat Wisconsin, or the Boise that beat Oklahoma.
