I believe Lou Holtz directly affected the voting / polls which put Northern Illinois in this position. (BCS quailification) Last evening he was literally the only voice that chimmed in on the side of allowing Northern Illinois into this level of competition on the BCS Bowl Show / ESPN

The state of Ohio + The MAC Conference have erected / built a museum in Akron as well as monuments to Lou Holtz throughout this region of the country. (MidWest)

It wasn't the BCS that allowed LSU to play for the Championship as a two loss team. It was the BCS that essentially made LSU's appearance in the BCSNCG such a scandal. It all boiled down to somebodies trying to make certain that Georgia would get an at large BCS bid. These same somebodies made the assumption that LSU and either West Virginia or Missouri would win their final games. As it turned out the plan backfired and Georgia got an at large anyways, but LSU picked up a black eye to go along with their title.

By far the worst set of BCS games that I can remember. N Illinois, Louisville, and UW are not BCS worthy teams. Its a joke. They need to let the best teams play, regardless of conference affiliation. There is no reason UGA shouldnt have also been in the BCS. A conference championship game shouldnt be looked at as a regular season loss IMO. It was a close game and only their second loss. I think you have to take things like that into consideration. The SEC should have sent three teams to the BCS.

It's a lose lose for Florida State. You win, you were supposed to, you lose, it's not going to be a pretty off season.

I enjoy watching the MAC in their mid week games. NIU is fun to watch....and is a good MAC team. But to say they are among the top teams in the nation is laughable. They lost to a terrible Iowa team, and their signature win is against a pathetic Kansas team.
That being said.....none of the bowl games after the NCG means anything anyway. The pressure is on Florida State to put NIU in their place.

Actually yes I have watched them play two games. They got beat by a very bad4-8 Iowa, they had to go to overtime to beat kent state who got beat by Kentucky by 33 points. Nothing else needs to be said.
