How about the BCS force feeding us a Northern Illinois, a 1 loss Northern Illinois team at that, in a BCS game??? Wow this has got to be the biggest fiasco the BCS has EVER made!! I mean this is a #21 ranked Northern Illinois team last week who played a #17 ranked Kents state team(who got beat by 33 to Kentucky) in the mac championship, won it in overtime, and they jump all the way up to # 15 in the BCS????? This is the most ridiculous move i have ever seen the BCS make!! What a piss poor match up for the orange bowl and Florida State! This is a team that loss to a 4-8 Iowa Hawkeyes team.......I could understand if Northern Illinois was undefeated, but to give them a BCS berth with one loss, in front of teams like ...OK, Oregon State, Clemson....its ridiculous!! The SEC suffers from the only being able to have 2 teams in rule, but there's no excuse for these other schools being left out for Northern Illinois!!

I'm only in favor of the BCS formula when it benefits LSU....otherwise, I think it sucks !!

This could be the biggest fiasco ever.....between this and the undefeated Aubrun team being left out in 04.

Well, since it allowed US to be the first 2 loss team to play for the Championship, I wouldn't complain.

I sigh every time somebody brings this up because EVERYBODY ELSE (besides Oh. St., Kansas, and Hawaii) had two losses. It ain't like we jumped a bunch of one-loss teams to get there, and it certainly ain't like we didn't win our conference to get there. We took the respectable route.

This is very true. What else were you going to do that year? Give it to another 2 loss team. They had Ohio State and the only reason they were there was because everyone else had 2 losses. This was fresh off Ohio State getting their ass handed to them by Florida the previous year. (a year I thought we should have been playing for a championship but oh well) The BCS this year is complete garbage. I won't watch a single game, no match ups intrigue me at all.

You clearly haven't seen NIU play. They are for real.

    Right.

And I doubt the majority of the country has seen them play, either.

In a BCS Bowl, that spells disaster for the bowl because no one will want to watch them now.

That's the hilarious thing.... a BCS bid for NIU (or especially Kent State) will most likely bankrupt their program.

That being said, the past 3 years have been immensely successful for NIU and I think the MAC in general is much, much better than they have been in recent years. NIU is 2 points away from perfection.

As a conference, they are much-improved.

If Georgia Tech had pulled up the FSU upset, that would without a doubt make the 2013 Orange Bowl the worst BCS game in history.

On that we can certainly agree; however, the fact remains that it goes from being the worst BCS game in history when substituting FSU for Ga Tech to merely one that no one (even the Seminole fans, themselves) wants to watch.
