LSU will probably be anywhere from 13th to 15th. Our computer rankings will have us at about a 23-25 average. The Georgia game is a step in the right direction. Bama needs to keep winning too. Please tell me why we put North Texas on our schedule. 0-12. Best guess: 1. Texas 2. Alabama 3. Penn State 4. Oklahoma 5. USC 6. Oklahoma State 7. Texas Tech 8. Florida 9. Ohio State 10. Utah 11. Georgia 12. Boise State 13. South Florida 14. LSU 15. TCU 16. Ball State 17. Pittsburgh 18. BYU
Brad Edwards top 11 just announced on ESPN: 1. Texas 2. Alabama 3. Penn State 4. Oklahoma 5. USC 6. Oklahoma State 7. Texas Tech 8. Florida 9. Georgia 10. Utah 11. Ohio State
I know they have to schedule pansy teams, but why not Tech, ULA, ULM, etc? If we need a rent-a-win, keep it in-state. Besides, they all play in Tiger Stadium anyway. I can't imagine a North Texas game helping with recruiting any better than La. Tech.
I've never understood this either. Why not schedule a bottom dweller from a BCS conference or at least a mid-major like C-USA. The W would look much better than those from directional schools.
Well it looks like we are tying to fix the problem with the WVU series verbal agreement. One cupcake to start the season is ok (La Tech, Tulane, ULM). That's it. Then you can put somebody like a Troy or Marshall or some decent non-bcs conference team. Then the other 2 need to be BCS teams. One pretty good team and one decent team (e.g, WVU and Illinois, respectively).
I love how we are playing at Washington next season. I hope they do more of that and play an OOC team from a good distance away. I think we played Notre Dame in '96 or '97 and I thought that was cool too. VT was good. I know this is the SEC and the schedules are harder than anywhere else, but there's got to be at least one good to half-way decent OOC team to play a year.
I don't like the cupcakes a ton, either. But when this game was scheduled years ago, N. Texas was actually a decent team who won their conference regularly. No one knew they were this bad until now.
