They might, but the trend this season is that Bama will jump on Utah early, and do absolutely nothing by the 4th quarter. I can see Utah covering.
Thing is... If Bama jumps out and gets that 20-24 point lead. How will Utah get the 14 points they'd need to cover? I just can't see them stopping the run against Bama.
this is still a huge letdown game for bama so Id lay off or go with utah. motivation is about 70% of these bowls especially ats. my first reaction was I liked Penn St but USC defense will be ready and they may cover by themselves. they will once again be trying to make a statement at the big10's expense. and i can foresee that happening quite easily. 30-10?
I wouldn't touch Bama vs Utah. Utah's talent level is pretty sad. As for a possible letdown by Bama, I don't know. They went to the Independence Bowl the last two years. They haven't been to a BCS Bowl since 1999, when they went to the Orange Bowl. They haven't been to the Sugar Bowl since 1992. I'd imagine they are very excited.
it is a letdown game, yes. But if they lose, all they do is prove everyone right that they were overrated, etc... Georgia was fairly let-down after not getting into the title game last year. And killed Hawaii. Different circumstances, yes, but I see them romping Utah handily.
