Mort or someone said they agreed for him not to look anywhere for a couple of years. It was part of the reason he was hired knowing he would be there for a little while. I understand BC being angry but they didnt handle the situation correctly by going public with the information.
ESPN reported that with his NFL background, BC had him sign a contract that forbade him from communication with NFL personnel with intent to hire within the first 3 years of his contract. I believe he is in his third year, thus breaching the contract.
If it is indeed his signature on that contract, then by all means this is legal. With all the coaching carousel that seems to go on these days, I applaud BC for protecting themselves in this manner. More schools should do it. Coaches get perks, Universities should too.
I agree with Islstl on this one. I applaud BC on this one. I remember how much of a beating it was when Saban was interviewing for every NFL job under the sun. When LSU just gave and gave. Thats one thing I have liked about Miles, aside from the Michigan issue last year that front has been peaceful and not because people are not interested in him.
That does change things. If you agree to a contract then you can't cry when it doens't work in your favor. Looks like BC knew what they were doing. I hope the Jets pass on him now. If he is lucky enough to get another job I'm sure it will have the same stipulation.
