Hey guys, need some help. I'm from Ireland - my Scottish buddy and I are on a road trip around the US, following a friend's wedding in Atlanta last weekend. As it happens we're in Baton Rouge tomorrow, coinciding with the game. I'm guessing all the hardcore Tiger fans will be out of town but where would be the best place for us to go watch it? Are there any special events planned for example where we can soak in some atmosphere? Any good places we can stock up on some Tigers gear as well? Thanks.
Not sure about if there will be any special events held by the LSU official, but if you're just looking for a great place to hang out with LSU faithfuls, 'Walk-on's' and 'Chimes' will be two great choices! Hopefully you will enjoy the gameday tomorrow!
The above recommendations are great for watching the game. As far as LSU gear, there is a store called Tigermania that is good, but really, you can get all sorts of stuff at just about any grocery store. Walmart has lots of shirts/hats, etc for good prices.
I'm not sure if you are limited to just Baton Rouge, but I know in downtown New Orleans in champion square, right by the dome, they will be having a big Tiger party with live music & lots of food before the game, & they will be showing the game on the big screen. It's a shame you couldn't experience the tailgaiting for gameday in B.R. though.
The Tiger Gift Center on campus near the Tiger habitat and Tiger Stadium has lots of gear. The new Buffalo Hot WIngs just north of campus had about 30 large screens. Good place to watch several games at once.
