Last Thanksgiving, my daughter who was in kindergarten, got sent home with Buddy Bear, who had to accompany her everywhere we went over the weekend (and then MOM had to make a scrapbook page to document.) I took her out to campus while my mom was finishing Thanksgiving dinner, and we got some awesome pics of her, Buddy Bear, and Mike. Buddy Bear even ended up in the mouth of the Tiger statue outside the habitat--great pic. As for the food suggestions, the dining in Baton Rouge is not nearly as dismal as some folks on here are making it out to be. When we're in town, my daughters will NEVER leave Baton Rouge without a trip to Sammy's; it's their favorite, bar none, and you can find good seafood there. If you're looking for something more upscale, Louisiana Lagniappe is quite good, as well. This is not to put down New Orleans cuisine because it's obviously in a class of its own, but you'll not go hungry and unsatisfied in Baton Rouge.
We used to hit Drusilla's for Belle River crawfish when we would pass through BR Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I know Tiger fans are famous for their tailgates. I'm going to a 1:30 game. Do Tiger fans tailgate after the game, as well as before the game?
This is correct. Expect 2-3 hours before traffic is actually moving after the game. The tailgating should be something to witness if we're sitting at 12-0 and heading to Atlanta. It was a lot of fun after the '03 Arkansas beatdown--lots of dancing in parking lots and drinking.
Well ok. I'm definitely leaving the car at the hotel. I will definitely be scanning the tailgate area after the game.......
