I have heard through the grapevine that mackey may not graduate i definately hope this is not true.. it would be ashame
i really do belive that it is only gossip the info came from a ouachita fan maybe there mad cuz he beat them.....anyway i am wondering why no one thinks this kid can play quarterback in the sec he is bigger and stronger than chris leak and he had a good career at florida, im telling u i was in awe of the kids arm.....he was flicking the ball 40-50 yards and i do mean flicking it he even has good pocket presence i saw that in the ouachita game the kid can stand there an take a hit and still deliver the ball....i think he is not being recriuted because of his athletic ability....that maybe the reason he doesnt come here and the one reason were not recruiting him very strong
I've never seen the kid play, but everyone that has seems to be in awe of him. Whatever it is that fans are seeing though, college coaches aren't...
I admit i'm high on him I think if we gave shyrone c ,skyler g ,and Corey Webster all former highschool QBs shots we should at least give him a shot at WR, DB or some position but coaches make the decision. Maybe if he has another big playoffs he'll get more offers.
He wants to come to LSU and he is saying it doesnt matter what position. Not sure if that will be enough to get him an offer.
Im sure Mackey is a great athlete, but the guys you mentioned were either bigger, faster, and/or taller. Im sure he is a great kid but I just dont think he is LSU calibre.
He backed off of it a while back this off season after him and his family sat down and figured that he could get more offers and go further at another position.Plus he figured that would be the only way he could get a offer to LSU. Also think either rivals or scout did an article where they asked him about it and how LSU is his dream school, him and D.Benton are close etc.
I don't know why major colleges aren't recruiting him or why rivals /scout don't have him ranked higher, must be a reason, but watching him play, i don't know what it is. If we felt we just had to offer a QB in this recruiting class (and granted, what little I know about it, next to nothing) he would have been the one I offered over what else was available to us.
well i tell u guys this i saw brock berlin at evangel he went to miami ...i saw john david booty and he is at usc both started at big time programs...and i tell u right now this kids arm is better than both not even close....somtimes i think guys get put in a box bye the way guys sharrone carey was like 5ft 9 or something skyler green was a little guy and they both did not have the caliber of arm mackey has im telling if u guys go if u go see him play u want believe this kid isnt being recruited at qb especially with all the spread option offenses out there.
