It all works both ways, because I guarantee you that the other sports recruiting gets better when football is good. take 4-5 soccer kids to a game and they will commit instantly. Soccer, WBB, gymnastics have all had some of their best recruiting classes ever.
Doesn't seem to be having apositive effect on Duke and North Carolina. I have never heard a player say I came to a school because of their basketball or baseball teams unless they were interested in playing that sport. Most come either because of opportunity to win or a chance to play early or beacuse the wish to stay close to home or get a way from home.
He has five years to play four. That can be in any combination. If he started as a freshman and played four years in a row in BB, then redshirted is first year in football, he would have one year of football eligibility as a 5th year but no BB eligibility.
Don't forget Kansas, Kentucky, Memphis, Georgetown, and UCONN...Those are pretty succesful B-Ball programs and it doesn't help football...Schools like Michigan, Penn State, Notre Dame, Florida State, Miami, Nebraska and Alabama aren't known for their B-Ball programs, yet kids still want to go to these schools and play football. My answer is N-O, NO!!!!
I say no. Because if it does then one must reason that having a very good basketball team helps recruiting. What has Duke done lately? I would be surprised to see any stats/numbers which would support otherwise.
I wonder what effect fans wearing paper bags on their heads will have on recruiting? I wonder if Pryor would be impressed?
