Does anyone think that having a bad basketball team & having no one in the stands is hurting our football recruiting for all these late visits after the football season is over? I mean isn't it hard to get a recruit excited at the game when the home team is getting beat by 20??
In some instances I would say yes, but for kids, who just want to play football, they could careless about being at the basketball game. Which probably isnt a big decision factor in their choice.
It's a good point although USC sucked in bball up until the last couple of years. We just never took the recruits to the Sports Arena to watch. OTOH, with the opening of the Galen Center and a competitive team, the games are definitely part of the schedule. Probably why most coaches prefer visits during the season. Death Valley on a Saturday night would be hard to compete with.
Well if they want to see a really well oiled machine that plays tough defense, shoots well, and doesn't fold under pressure, we can always take them to see the Lady Tigers.
What would happen if an athlete played BB and FB and redshirted his freshman yaer in FB but not BB (Pryor). How would that play out for eligibility.
These kids do things on these visits they have never done/seen in there life. And wont tell mamma about. The basketball team may bother them for an hour or so and then they forget about it very quickly.
hasnt hurt UGA either. but what the hell. if pryor, scott, patchan, jones, and brown dont come to LSU then its brady's fault.
