Tasmin Mitchell will undergo surgery to pin his ankle. Six plus weeks to recover. They are talking medical redshirt is a possibility. Brady will have to do it with mirrors. :nope:
What I don't understand is why is it that every year under Brady, we have had a lack of depth? I know we had limited scholarships a while back, but that was a while ago. Why doesn't Brady give out more scholarships? Can someone explain this.
He likes to give scholarships to long and skinny players...You know the type...6'10-6'11 and 180 pounds...And he doesn't know what a point guard is.
I tried to ask him about depth in a presser this summer. He got a little irritated because he was trying to talk about the loss of guys like Davis and Thomas to the NBA, and I pointed out how many guys he's lost in recent years due to transfers. Said he really can't help it if guys get impatient. And I guess its understandable, in an age where talking heads get on ESPN and tell us what high school sophmores are sure to make it to the NBA, that a guy wouldn't want to hear that he needs to sit on a college bench and wait their turn. But, man, we seem to lose more than our fair share of those. So I guess the question is, what's going on at LSU that so many guys don't have the patience to wait?
Spencer look's like he got a chance to be real good at the point. I think they will miss Tasmin most from an experience standpoint and another body to put out there.
fire cjb. :angryfire its gotta be his fault that tasmin got injured, somehow. felton just got rid of his 2nd and 3rd best players. and yet for some reason, uga fans arent calling for his head. they must be giving him a pass because uga has had so much more success than lsu recently. ok, enough sarcasm. not sure how big of a hit this will be for the team. tasmin was going to have to play a different role and we'll never know how he would have done. no way this team can make up the rebounding deficiency left by tas and qt. goint to have to play awesome perimeter d (a zone i guess) and shoot well. maybe cjb can install a beilien-type O. still going to have fun watching them (oops, i mean listening to them).
This may not be all bad. Even with Tasmin, odds of winning more than half the games and making it to the tourney are slim. Just too many young guys and no inside presence this year. Brady is safe this year and has a big recruiting class coming in next year. He can redshirt this year and Brady can give all these young guys much needed experience. Take this opportunity to prepare for next season. Whatever offense/defense he plans on running next year, run it this year. Then next year you'll get Tasmin back, have young but experienced players from this year, and the new guys coming in. Then if he bombs again, see ya! But there is no reason not to be really good next year.
