I'm sure you realize some of your state tax goes to the Saints. With the cap coming off this year, do you think New Orleans will still be able to afford them? Not all owners are filthy rich. Wouldn't that have been ironic had the Saints moved to San Antonio and then won the SuperBowl. The New Orleans population may have halved from suicides.
Then they have no business owning a team. Obama doesn't run professional sports. Capitalism still rules.
Frankly, with the technology in TV now days I would rather watch most games in the comfort of my home where I can drink, eat, curse, throw things at the tv, and not have to fight traffic. I spent the $2000 for the 56" DLP HD TV one time and get to watch in clearer pictures than if I were at the game. Also, never miss a play, but if I should because I go to the bathroom or go get something to eat or drink I have the game on DVR and just replay it. Much better option and waaay cheaper in the long run. Of course this has nothing to do with the debate of a CAP or not, but I just wanted to chime in with something.
WRONG!! Richest owners in Baseball: 1. Washington Nationals (Payroll rank 23 of 30) 2. Chicago Cubs (Payroll Rank (Payroll Rank 2 of 30) 3. Atlanta Braves (Payroll Rank (Payroll Rank 15 of 30) 4. Houstona Astros (Payroll rank 14 of 30) 5. Detroit Tigers ( Payroll Rank (6 of 30) 6. Cincy Reds (Payroll rank 19 of 30) 7. George Steinbrenner (Payroll Rank 1 of 30) 8. Oakland A's (Payroll Rank 28 of 30) 9. Boston Red Sox (Payroll Rank 2 of 30) 10. Texas Rangers (Payroll Rank 27 of 30) Of the 10 richest owners in baseball, 5 of them are cheap enough to finish in the bottom half of the league in payroll. Hell, 2 of them finish in the bottom3!!! They can afford it, but choose not to. The teams suck because their owners are tightwads, not because of the lack of a salary cap.
