i was pleased with the way bourgeois performed. the kid showed he is working hard to come back and earn his start in the weekend rotation. not only was he pitching well, his endurance went longer than i thought it would. we need a good 5-6 innings from our starters and he and ranaudo both delivered this weekend. i dont know what is going on with ross. i feel bad for the kid. pre and early season, it looked like he might be a solid number two guy, and now he is struggling at relief. he scared the daylights out of me last night. as usual, ott came in and was ice. after the first strike out of the 9th on 3 pitches, i told jayb we needed 6 more pitches like that. damn, if the iceman didnt deliver 5 of those! it was freaking awesome!
