Kinda mixed on this one. Firearm=awesome, but yeesh that doesn't hold up to time. Tennessee isn't one of the greats of the SEC in baseball, this year is no different. Highlights include splitting a pair with next weeks midweek Binghamton and getting swept by SCar in last weeks opener. Expect Friday's starter Bryan Morgado to go long and beware Polk, Hawn and Forsythe as the real offensive threats. And since most of the Vols fans will be glued to a TV, don't expect a big crowd on Friday. All this goes out the window, however, when you realize CPM has never won a series against the Vols. So, lets get this one. There is weirdness with the TV coverage for this series. And on Saturday: Weather: Cold and clear tonight, little bit warmer on Saturday, threat of a rain-out on Sunday. PITCHING MATCHUPS Game 1-Friday 6pm (CSS, COX 4) LSU - Jr. RHP Austin Ross (2-1, 4.88 ERA, 27.2 IP, 7 BB, 33 SO) UT - Jr. LHP Bryan Morgado (2-1, 4.55 ERA, 29.2 IP, 15 BB, 31 SO) Game 2-Saturday 2pm (FSN where available) LSU - So. someone might know more about this than me, but what happened to cox sports television? They used to cover LSU exclusively, started adding other weird matchups in sports, now they have Alabama and Arkansas tonight. i don't get it. i know that Ark and Bama is a better matchup (two ranked teams,) but i bet LSU fans would rather watch LSU play.
The funny thing is that I heard a bunch of commercials on the radio this week saying the only way you could catch this weekend's games is if you had Cox. :cuss:
I guess Tenn baseball doesn't have many fans. Pretty much empty from the get go. 3 girls finally snuck down to the 1st row which made the crowd look a little larger. Maybe March Madness got to them.
