Someone explain the vast difference in polls vs RPI rank. How do they beat #6RPI team and not move up in RPI and Vandy move down. Indiana???? Really?? I don't like this "number cruncher" approach that appears to not accurately reflect one of the hottest teams in the country.
You crunch nums on RPI??? If so, what do you see as best/worst case. I can't believe teams ranked in the 20's could possibly be consider hosts, higher seed etc just based on RPI.
Ok, I check Warren Nolan at midnight last night and he has LSU up to 12................only game still in progress I think was MSU. This AM, they are back down to 14!!!!! Texas in the top 8 and ranked in the 20's. I think the fact that ULL and their 120 plus ranked schedule will keep LSU from a national seed no matter what they do in SEC T. In fact, it will blow that two teams that will probably be RANKED IN POLLS very close together will have to play each other (I think ULL gets seed thus a SR) to get to Omaha.
The selection committee does take hot teams and SoS into consideration, so hopefully that will help us out. I would be surprised if the BR and Lafayette regionals are paired.
