number one in baseball america.... http://www.baseballamerica.com/today/college/top-25/2009/267937.html and number one in collegiate baseball! the cb one is up from #4 last week http://www.collegiatebaseball.com/polls/divI/currentpolldivI.htm
no prob. i had just gotten home from running errands and putting up groc so hadnt even looked at them when i saw your note. so of course, i had to stop everything and go look for myself.
all rankings aside, i'd still like to see this team perform to its capabilities at least somewhat. maybe i'm being a little hard on them, because BAMA has proven to be a tough place to play for quite awhile. still, being held in high enough esteem to be ranked number one while severely underperforming isn't too bad. by season's end i think we'll be sitting pretty. still need the bullpen to be a little more consistent. matulis or byrd really need to get into mid-season form since it would help to have some lefties able to come in for a change of pace. anyway, i'm not too displeased with this team right now.
It really looks like LSU has improved from the beginning of the season. All hitting is gelling as opposed to mainly the long ball. Maybe the pitching staff will be getting more of the coveted run support now. I guess the true indication of improvement will be a renewed ability to win weekday games (remember ULL and Tulane?).
