2. LOUISIANA STATE

Last Week: 4-1. Overall: 17-5, 4-2 in SEC. (0-0 vs. Top 25). Weekend Series: 4-1.

The Tigers went on the road and won their sixth straight conference series dating back to last year. Fr. RHP Anthony Ranaudo (7 IP, 3 H, 2 ER, 2 BB, 9 K) was out-dueled by Gamecocks ace Sam Dyson (7 IP, 2 H, 1 ER), but LSU's bats woke up the next two days, pounding out six homers against much softer pitching. Sr. RHP Louis Coleman (7 IP, 7 H, 2 ER, 2 BB, 8 K) and So. RHP Austin Ross (5.1 IP, 4 H, 3 R, 2 ER) kept South Carolina's offense in check both days.

RESULTS

March 17: Northwestern State: W 2-1

March 18: McNeese State: W 6-3

March 20-22: @ South Carolina: L 7-3, W 10-3, W 11-3

Good to see accuracy isn't something that publication strives for as Ranaudo is a sophomore and not a freshman.

The Tigers won their seventh straight conference series to take sole possession of second place in the SEC West behind Arkansas. So. RHP Anthony Ranaudo (6.2 IP, 6 H, 6 ER, 4 BB, 9 K) surrendered three of Mississippi's four homers Friday to lose for the second straight week. Jr. DH Blake Dean (4-for-5, 4 RBI) busted out of his slump Saturday to pace LSU's 12-hit attack in support of Sr. RHP Louis Coleman (7 IP, 4 H, 2 R, 1 ER, 4 BB, 10 K). So. RHP Austin Ross allowed just one run on two hits over a career-high eight innings Sunday, and Jr. OF Jared Mitchell singled home the winning run in the eighth. Fr. RHP Matt Ott picked up his fifth save Sunday by getting the final out with the tying run at third base for the second straight day.

Collegiate baseball is pretty high on ark... But still, how do you drop a team that won 2/3 over a top 15 team? Oh well

How do you not have a team who is 8-1 above the team who is 6-3 in the same league?

It's not a fluke anymore when they win 8 of 9.

Here is the counter to your arguement: Arkansas has played some of the weakest SEC teams. Let's see what their record is like after they play UGA, Ole Miss, and of course LSU.
