yeah he has been the worst pitcher this season. if it came down to whoever was in the game struggling and him, i'd leave the struggler in. your job as a closer is to not allow runs -- not only does he not do that, he usually gives up more runs in one inning than the other pitchers do combined all game. there is simply no more excuses or reasons for it, this team is washed-up, snake-bit, and it wouldn't surprise me if they don't win another game all season unless someone gives it to them... also, LSU has probably given up more grand slams that any team in the history of the sport. ****ing horrible. i hate to say it, but i don't want LSU to go to the SEC tourney, i want this season to end. right now.
Game Over! LSU gets swept by one of the worst teams in the SEC! Penthouse to Outhouse in just one year!
im not making excuses but UK is actually pretty good, they beat USCe 2/3 last weekend and have been playing very, very good ball. it doesn't matter though, LSU can't beat anyone right now. i really do believe that, the players obviously believe it as well. this is phenomenally bad... o:
Ott is not terrible, he has just lost his ability to command his pitches. Ott has one of the best two seamers around, but when you leave it over the middle, it gets crushed. Ott is Snake Bit........
ott is not a bad pitcher. period. he was not the leader in saves at one point for lack of talent. however, ott, as well as the rest of the team has gone mental on us. i hope like hell there is a physchologist on staff. im serious. i believe it is in their heads. many may disagree with me, but i dont believe this is a bad team. this team has shown that they have what it takes in talent and skills. however, this team got down, got in a slump, and i truly believe that they have psyched themselves out at this point. its not a bad team, its a mental team. ott took quite a while to recover after going 7 against bama. im not sure if physically he completely recovered. he was shaky after that but he could work himself out of his jams. then he started. and that very bad outing effected him. you could tell by his emotions when he was pulled that it shook him bad. and he has lost 3 games since. that is why i believe it is in his head. this is not a slam on ott. i believe that it is something he has yet to work through.
hey, that goes without saying. :hihi: you're the only person in the entirety of tiger nation not slamming him. i'll slam him... i'm slamming the entire team. coaches, players, everyone involved. :cuss: at this point, i blame mainieri the most, though. he's the head coach and he hasn't said one thing since this slump began that gave me, as a fan, confidence in his team. that's not his job to console fans, but when a team goes from 32-6 to 34-18 people naturally would like to hear some honest reasoning or ideas as to why. i know all the obvious reasons. i know we can't pitch, hit or field -- at least not all at the same time -- but these guys were able to do it in 40 prior games. when he says, during a game, "we're just snake-bit," that is not a satisfactory reasoning. he sees the team practice. he sees them before games. he should know what's going on. "snake-bit" is a term that is OK for fans to use because we don't get to see the entire picture, but when your coach starts resorting to such terms what does that tell you? mainieri is a coach who will call players out publicly, he's done it many of times, so it's not beneath him to be completely honest with the fans. i guess he just really doesn't know what's going on with his team. it's the only thing i can think of. this season really just makes me sick.
