the original post in the thread has been edited, but to make sure everyone knows (as if they care) the game on sunday has been moved to 11:00 am central time. (noon eastern.) this is due to the threat of severe weather in lexington.
david grewe. i have been biting my tongue all season. i didn't want to call him out. i mean, he was a HEAD COACH at michigan state for cry it out loud. i would think that if any school was fortunate enough to have a division 1 caliber head coach as a pitching coach, then the guy must know what he was doing. i felt that grewe was a very, very competent pitching coach. i am now having doubts. we have some pretty good freshman/sophomore pitchers, let's see how they develop.
im hesitant to throw grewe under the bus for one reason. chad jones. it was grewe who last season recognized the potential cj had as a pitcher for the team and pushed mainieri into using him that way. i remember a couple of interviews where cpm specifically gave credit to grewe for recognizing that potential, working with jones, and pushing for him to be used as a pitcher. and i sure miss having cj on the mound!
i remember when CPM lured him in as pitching coach how excited i was. he is a good pitching coach, but everyone needs to look into the mirror after this season -- including mainieri.
not sure that anyone cares, but LSU is leading UK 4-2 in the top 6th. ross has been solid (so far.) we need this game. understatement of the century.
