Make no mistake about it - Florida is very good. At this point LSU is very BAD. worse stretch LSU has had in a very long time... total pitching collapse.

True... but I'm not ready to put Smoke in the same category with CPM. Although...it appears that his "methods" aren't working this year by any means.

Don't throw just the pitching under the bus. Complete team "effort" here.

The outcome of some of these games (Ole Miss series) would have been different had the offense been able to get hits in clutch situations. LSU never should have lost the Sunday game.

    1. its more than pitching.

    2. cpm's methods were working to get us to 32-6 before this meltdown. its a slump and nothing seems to be getting us out of it. dont throw the coach under the bus either. the players have a bit to do with this.

    3. everything is in a slump. pitching. hitting. getting picked off. not being able to field a bunt.....

But fatboy also never won a single game in Omaha. You can't seriously put CPM in the same category as Smoke.

not only that, but the SEC is a lot tougher now than it was then. can't just blame mainieri either, he's a big part of it, but it is a complete team effort (or lack thereof.) these teams we've been playing aren't going to rollover and play dead.

my theory is that CPM had this team playing better than its capabilities to start the season, then they started to play right at their level, and now they're playing just beneath it.

look at the other top ten teams of this season, right when we started to struggle, they all kicked their game into a higher gear.

if anything, you have to credit mainieri with the way this team started off the season.

I didn't mean for it to seem as if I was busting CPM's chops...I like him. I'm just saying that the same things that usually work for him in the second half of seasons aren't working this year. It has A LOT to do with the players.
