Actually, the closers in both games did pretty damn well. It was the starters that screwed the pooch and put them in a hole, and in the second game, the batters let us down by not capitalizing TWICE when the bases were loaded.

CPM definitely needs to reshuffle his weekend pitching rotation and give some of the other pitchers a chance to show their stuff in a starting role. BTW, I personally think AR is done as a starter for the rest of the regular season, and besides a few innings of relief here and there to get him back in the groove, we shouldn't count on him being 100% until the post-season, if at all.

one run in the first 8 innings of the 1:00 game today wasnt the fault of the pitching. the bats finally woke up but by then it was a bit late. at least that spark carried over into the second (well, continuation of the first) game. and they made a shot at a comeback in that game, but just couldnt overcome the deficit. and pitching in that game didnt give up much. so hopefully they are starting to wake up. we shall see tomorrow.

I'm not trying to be too critical of the pitching staff but 12 hits against a less than stellar Florida lineup isn't real encouraging. Last year's CWS participants had a lot more offense than the Gators so we really need to get everything (pitching, hitting, stop stranding runners, etc) rolling within the next few weeks.

I was watching on Directv and there was no one in the sideline stands beyond 1st and 3rd or outfield stands.

any word on ott starting sunday's game? not that his starting will be a cure-all, because we need to be a little more diligent when we get the leadoff man on base -- or any base runners, really. when are we going to see a shift in the lineup? and is watkins better yet? man, the way mahtook has been playing, it would do a whole helluva lot of good having him leading off again.

Oh, I agree. There were quite a few people in the stands, but considering how well they are playing and LSU is in town, I would have expected a sell out. Then again, their graduation was going on at the same time.

Agreed, here's to turning the karma around! By the way, pregame radio show confirms Ott will start.
