After the missed call at 1st on the opening at bat, I honestly thought CPM was going to get himself tossed to psyche his team up. Maybe he should have.

 

me too. he was pissed, as well as he should have been. that was an incredibly bad call with an absurd explanation by the ump.

 

What was the explanation?

 

listening to the pbp, it was that the first baseman caught the ball while his foot was on the bag, getting the out, then he jumped up into the air. so it didnt mean anything that his foot wasnt on the bag when mahtook touched it, because he had already beaten mahtook to the bag.

yeah right. he jumped up into the air to snag a ball he already had. happens all the time. :rolleye33:

never mind that the replay showed that he clearly caught the ball while up in the air, not before. it wasnt even close.

 

And that was exactly what happened with Dean on the bunt but the Fla. batter was safe. Home cooking.

 

yeah, he doesn't do that does he? just imagine the players if he were to do that though. :hihi: you go from a soft-spoken easy-going coach to a bulldog. o:
