Pop up to Nola to retire the side...moving to the 4th inning. Gaudet, Landry, Hanover up for LSU. Gaudet flies to left, 1 out. Landry singles to right...1 on, 1 out, Hanover at the dish. Sac bunt for Hanover, Landry in scoring position. Strike out to end the inning, Landry stranded at 2nd. 3-2 LSU bottom 4.
South Carolina and Arkansas are also 8-3 in SEC play so we need to win to remain at the top. Ole Miss is only one game behind.
Tie game...AU homers to lead off the bottom of the 4th. 3-3 no outs. Single followed by a walk, still no outs. Runners on first and second. Finally an out, runners on 2nd and third. HUGE strikeout, 2 down, runners on 2nd and 3rd. Mummey up. Ground ball to Hanover, Dean took a swipe at it, and Hanover had nobody to throw to at 1st. Run scores from third, then stupidly, the other runner tries to score from second, and gets thrown out by 15 ft at the plate. Side retired, but AU takes a 4-3 into the 5th.
Katz flies out to start the 5th. 1 out, top of the order up, 1 out. Mahtook singles to left. Dean grounds out to first, Mahtook advances, as he was running on the pitch. Micah Gibbs up with Mahtook in scoring position. Gibbs walks, runners at 1st and 2nd, Nola at the plate. Nola singles to score Mahtook, runners on first and second, Gaudet at the plate. 2 outs, 4-4 tie. Pitching change, AU bringing Hendrix. Gaudet is down in the count 0-1 when the change is made. Gaudet walks to load the bases, Landry up with 2 outs. Landry strands everyone grounding out to first to end the inning. I'm going to throw the ball to my boys for a while...too pretty to stay inside all day.
I wish Dean would start finding his power. We've been down this road before. Watch out opponents if he starts cranking them!
