Misleading stats because LSU really padded them with the poor OCC games. J. Jones is a microcosm for the team's season. He tore it up in OCC, but can't seem to find the ball in SEC play. (LSU is just averaging 3.9 runs per SEC game, which is almost half of what their season average is) This was nearly identical to the Saturday performance against Florida. a total of 19 hits between the two games, yet no runs. Timely hitting is not something that can be described with stats.
Gausman throws 124 pitches in 8 innings with 5 strikeouts, 5 walks, and holds Arkansas scoreless on 5 hits. Pretty solid effort. (sorry if my statline is off; announcers are saying 1 walk. Guess I am more tired than I thought :yelwink2 Top of the 9th, still scoreless...
