We may have the better "team" but they have the pitching which we lack.

...and we've helped walking in a run and stranding runners.

It's looking like Arkansas, Florida, and South Carolina may be the only three SEC schools to win today.

From 8-0 to 11-5 if we don't pull this one out. :nope:

The guy has been nails tonight.

We didn't really lack the pitching tonight. Not a great outing by AR, but four runs and 10 strikeouts should be plenty good enough to keep us in the game. Bottom line, we hit him early, and didn't take advantage. Then he just started grooving...kept the LSU hitters totally off balance.

There were a couple of times when I thought we were going to tear into the guy, but he would just work out of it.

Hit's are just down this year, along with pitching. With that said, their fight is second to none...

hey, look, don't tell me what to do, where you been the entire season? it's just not their night, not gonna happen, i'm fine with it.

    again.... just not their night.

the bauer kid was decent, nice little deceptive herky-jerky motion, nothing too impressive. he did have a killer changeup that we couldn't connect with, but we weren't even really connecting on fastballs either. ranaudo was very good (UCLA is a great hitting team, especially in this regional,) four runs should be enough to overcome. what aggravates me (and i'm sure the players) was the terrible approach at the plate. the bauer kid was so very predictable, i called every pitch he threw. LSU fell behind, then panicked and started swinging erratically. patience would have plated a few runs. that kid was hittable. gaudet hurt us (i would have had watkins pinch hit for him when we had runners in scoring pos.) all-in-all, UCLA is one of the best in the nation. if you approach the game all lackadaisical like LSU did, you lose to teams like UCLA. it's easy as that. i'm proud of them for making the postseason. just don't start preaching to me about losing faith, i am one of the most diehard baseball fans on this board. you see 80% of this board melt-down when the football team botches up, so don't go preaching to me. :)

It's amazing what a nasty hook will do...I mean, his breaker is sharp...and he gets it over for strikes. It's nearly unhittable...at least when it did what he wanted it to do. And it did most of the time. Obviously, I haven't watched the guy before, but if this is the norm for him, he's gonna make money one day soon.
