“Socialism never took root in America because the poor see themselves not as an exploited proletariat but as temporarily embarrassed millionaires.” John Stienbeck
It doesn't take because it doesn't work. Japan had a great system at one time. EVERYONE was taken care of and happy. Until they figured out there was no longer an incintive to work. Then the wheels came off. Chille had a runaway inflation problem in 75, place was in the crapper. What turned them around? They scrapped the bullsh!t socalism stuff and went to a more capitalistic one and voila, magic happened. Pissed of che guevara to no end but screw him, he is an asshat and obama likes him.
and why is everyone still harping on this socialism thing anyway. If Obama is a socialist then what the hell was everyone before him? You guys keep talking about this guy like he is Karl Marx or something. Your hatred has completely blinded you Young Skywalker. And isn't the United States of America a capitalist/socialist hybrid anyway?
it is all the liberals care about. "the gap between rich and poor" as if the actual amount of wealth is irrelevant.
also socialist. you see how much money bush was spending? yes, with way too much socialism. why dont you understand that the government that governs least governs best?
