The walk-on QB from U-High in BR. 6'4 208lb. I remember for the signing day press conference, Miles said they had a walk-on QB from town that they were very high on and that they considered one of the potential sleepers of the entire class. So, I never saw U-High play. The kid's obviously got good size. He a player or what?
I saw him play in the St. Johns game early last season. He does have size and could look over the field, but I was not that impressed. I hope he works out for the Tigers, but hopefully it will be down the road!
He's never projected to start. Just hoping to be called on as a scout team guy who can maybe be 4th string and dress out toward the back end of his career. Just wanted to know what he had to offer.
I never seen him play, but he's in the same class as shep and chris. seems like a redshirt. Project he could have went to other schools but really wanted to attend LSU. With us having JJ and JL. He got preferred walk-on status I believe that if we would have missed out on Chris he would have been offered. Chris came to LSU in stead of Miss St.
Most schools let MOST walk-ons dress for home games. If he ever makes the travel squad, they are serious about him. He is an injury and a transfer away from moving up the chart by just being on the team. IMO, if Jefferson has a big year and it appears Shepard plays more QB than anything else, Lee is gone by January. Just some thoughts.:geaux:
Lets just see how the quarterbacks play this year first. Lee's got the arm that Shepard doesn't have. Shepard is a fine athlete, but you have to be able to pass to play quarterback in the SEC. We need depth at quarterback in a rough league like the SEC. Sophomores transferring is not a good thing.
People should quit wishing aloud that Lee transfers. I know that if Jefferson does well and Garrett looks great and Shepard is outstanding at QB and Bailey is great also and Zack Lee comes in and plays right away then Jarrett Lee could be buried in the depth chart and transfer somewhere... etc, etc, etc... I also know that if Jordan Jefferson gets hurt or has troubles at QB that a first year player (oh yea, I forgot 2.5 games) usually has...and there is no Jarrett Lee on the team, we're screwed...period. We'll have a NO experience QB on the field. Get a dose of reality. Where would we really be if Lee had transferred last year like so many short sighted people hoped for last season. I bet Les Miles himself is real glad he didn't. :milesmic:.
Just to clarify. I'm not accusing anyone in particular of wishing Lee transfers. I'm sure the posters are just expressing their opinions...that's what this forum is for. But think about it...if Jarrett Lee were to transfer, or get injured would you think it was good news? if so, then you're hoping. I'm hoping Jordan Jefferson, and Lee(if called on) have a great season.
dang i still hope that JL wins the starting job this season... i definitely don't want him to transfer. seriously though, i'm torn b/w JJ and JL. either guy is fine with me. and i'd probably get hanged for mentioning this, but i'd probably want shepard to transfers over lee. at least we know lee can lead this team. RS is relatively unproven at this point. thankfully this choice is pretty irrelevant and unlikely, but i'm just sayin'
