I believe Bama was pretty impressive on both sides of the ball. Granted Clemson is severely over rated, but I believe they are a Top 25 team, so to dominate a team that is a Top 25 team is still impressive.

Parker looked like a different QB and Julio Jones is going to be awesome, and the defense looked really good against the run. They will be tough team this year and I for one am more worried about them this year than I was last year. The freshman will make mistakes and blow some coverages but they will be a huge force the next few years. The west will no longer be ruled by Auburn or LSU but I think Bama will be a legit competitor.

Now I don't think they have a shot to take the West this year but I believe next year they will.

Somebody already touched on it, but that game was won in the trenches. A team can have LT and Adrian Peterson in the backfield but if the O-Line doesn't play to the level of a contender, they won't be going anywhere.

We'll see how Alabama looks when they face a team with a real set of linemen on either side of the ball. If they continue to look like champions, I'll rethink jumping on the bandwagon and being concerned. Right now, however...they're still Bama. They looked GREAT in their blowout of Tennessee last year...then got beat by ULM. :rolleye33:

I could tell by the way Bama came out of the tunnel they were ready to kick somebody's a$$. Saban has them ready to play football and that is good for the entire SEC, especially the West. Looks like it's gonna be one helluva season. The worst part is knowing all I'm gonna hear at work tomorrow (probably all week and all month) is how great Bama is and how they are BACK. They are going to make this game seem bigger than our game against Ohio State! But my hat goes off to them, they have a good team. Let the season begin and may the best team win. GEAUX TIGERS!

Of course we're still Bama. Just like you're still auburn.

We did what we were suppose to do. It was TBowden's job to get his team ready not ours. It was a great building block for our young team and proved that much of what Saban was saying last season about players not buying into his system was exactly right. There were a lot of guys out there that played very very good considering it was their first time and played for 60 full minutes. The majority of AT-Tude problems have been filtered out and been replaced by players with a different one. We'll lose some games this season because of our youth but I'd rather lose games with kids giving it their all rather than losing games with kids sulking like a bunch of freakin' babies and bringing down the rest of the team.

We'll get there. Won't be this year but we're going to get there.

I owe you an apology...didn't mean to come off with that kind of venom. All I wanted to do was point out that Bama humiliated the winner of a very powerful East Division last year and then choked it up down the line. No doubt the Tide has talent and coaching. I just want to see them put an entire season together before I declare them "back". I'm sure you feel the same way.

BTW, if you ever call me an Auburn fan again, I'll hunt you down! :thumb::lol:

No, I owe you an apology for calling you an awbarn fan. I'll give myself five lashes from the cat of nine tails . Being that both schools are "The Tigers" and I don't always look at avatars before I post sometimes I get'em mixed up.

Regarding Bama- Yeah, I'd like to see us be more consistent with regards to "finishing" a season. But it's not like Saban hasn't recognized this problem. In just about EVERY press conference this gets brought by up him. But, being consistent is a mental hurdle, not a physical hurdle. So this problem isn't an overnight fix. It is something that our guys are going to have mentally work on.

But the talent and depth is beginning to come in as you saw Saturday. Those freshmen are pretty good. We're going to lose some games this season because of youth but it will benefit us next season.

And again, my apologies for calling you an awbarn fan. :nope:
