There's not a shred of evidence that even hints that Lee is going to transfer. No one transfers for their Senior year willingly. Lee has made it this far. Transferring now would change nothing for the positive.
If I were Mettenberger, I wouldn't commit to LSU unless Miles gave me an assurance in writing that he was going to get rid of Crowton. There is no way I would agree to ruin my career with Crowton.
If I was Mettenberger and planned on starting next season, I would not go to LSU unless Lee got an opportunity and proved he couldn't improve the play of that position. Les doesn't have a history of going to number two, no matter how badly number one stinks, unlesss there is an injury.
Crowton is NOT the reason for our terrible offense!! It is ALL Jefferson!! He has not had ONE QB that was capable of running his system!!
You are kidding yourself, man. It IS Crowton. He not only is a poor playcaller, he can't develop a QB. Ask yourself this logical question, was it the defense, CLM, or the two headed monster defensive coordinators 2 years ago? Well, since Chavis took over, our defense is lights out and nobody is giving CLM credit, are they? But they sure as hell blame him or JJ for the offensive probs. I promise you, CGC is the one wasting the offensive talent, and CLM is either too dedicated or handcuffed by his salary, one or the other. Once we change OC's, it will become clear to all, as our offense returns to being formidable.
I think he will transfer unless something other than the status quo occurs for the rest of the season. If he doesn't get a shot to lead this team this year, I firmly believe he will transfer somewhere where he can play. I have not inside information this is just my $00.02.
I think Craig Nall transferred in his Sr. year to Northwestern State. Had a pretty good year and got drafted in the 5th round by the Bills, I think. Knocked around the NFL for a while and did as well as Josh Booty and Rohan Davey (or Jamarcus Russell). He may still be playing in the European league or somewhere.Tony Romo of the Dallas Cowboys Played at Eastern Illinois, a Div. II school I think. I'm not a historian but there are probably other examples. You don't need to play at LSU or in the SEC to play in the NFL. I agree however that neither JL or JJ has a NFL future. I just hate to see a young man who came out of High School as a 4 star recruit and came to LSU with stars in his eyes end up as he has. Crag Nall had a lot more fun than he would have had he stayed at LSU. Sometimes things that make sense do happen.
I hope for LSU's sake he stays. It's a bit thin on the depth chart... As I said - I'd be very surprised if he departs. He's one injury from his second chance. It's worth staying - either way, he's not getting drafted unless he gets VERY lucky and has a huge light-bulb moment AT THE SAME TIME.
