I see a lot of "what iffs". Bottom line is this... if you choose to smoke it because you think it should be legal, don't be mad when you go to jail. Your gamble. If you advocate breaking the law because you don't agree with it, don't be surprised when people question your morals. Different laws exist in different times. Slave owners were protected at one time, and blacks were treated unfair. This has changed. And I thought hemp was outlawed because it was cheaper to make stuff with it than cotton. Smoking it was later added. I forget.
You don't understand the meaning of the word diversity. It doesn't matter what your opinion is, or why the law exists. It matters only that people's opinion differs on the legality. Because you do not agree with this law does not change the reality of the meaning of the word "diversity". If the law changes and it becomes legal, there will still likely be a "diversity of opinion" as to it's use. Much the same as there is a diversity of opinion on the use of alcohol, or tobacco, or legal drinking ages, or legal driving ages, or gay marriage. If someone disagrees with you(most importantly if they are allowed to do this), then a diverse opinion exists. Are you getting it yet?
well, you actually should be mad when you go to jail, because it is absurd that you get arrested. again, would you be angry if you were arrested for drinking from the white man fountain if you were black under segregation? if you get arrested for an unjust law, you have the right to be angry.i would be absolutely furious. but of course i would never be arrested even if i did smoke pot, because i live in new york where there is no arrest for the first and 2nd possession offenses, and i never get pulled over by the3 cops because i dont drive, and i have virtually zero chance of being stupid enough to get caught. once again, liek red said, those who get caught are idiots. no matter what you do, people will question your morals. that is a given and a constant for virtually any behavior. it doesnt matter whatsoever. my muslim cabbies question my morals for eating non halal food. its simply not relevant to anything what people think, especially given that most americans are christian and therefore have somewhat stupid ideas about what morals are.
