It's going to be a cascading waterfall of Sabans urine which all players will drink from before every home game.
Someone please help me here. WTF am I missing? Seriously. Why would a CFB player be excited about a waterfall in a place where all the d1cks hang out?
I know right?. Must be one hell of a waterfall Cecil Hurt @CecilHurt Possible artist's rendition of Alabama locker room waterfall (from @NatGeo )
As we've seen over the past few years the surplus in athletic department revenue allows for amenities like this to be added. Just that realization wasn't enough to satisfy my curiosity as to why they'd spend money on something like this. So, to satiate that curiosity I decided to look at this story in more detail. It's origin actually goes back more than 40 years. You might recall...no, I'm sure you recall that period were Alabama didn't lose a game in Baton Rouge for a span of about three decades. As you're undoubtedly aware, it led to the widespread rumors of out-of-state expenditures: specifically paying taxes on the property at Death Valley. At the beginning of this century that expense came off the books. It's one of the few moves where Mike DuBoses' coaching acumen had long term effects. The loss of that expense has allowed for a few things to be added here and there around the campus in Tuscaloosa. But, the ability to add something like a waterfall was still a little out of reach. What's not realized is how the LSU fan base has helped in small projects like this one. Thanks to DuBose not only is the tax-burden removed, but now living rent-free in the minds of the LSU fan base has allowed the football program to contribute even more back to the athletic programs at UA. The economics of college football is something that takes more than just a cursory glance to fully comprehend. ******* I thought this was odd when I first heard recruits mention it was being added in the rehab area. I don't know where the idea came from, or who it belongs to, but I did notice Oregon has one in their rehab area as well. I believe it was Bruce Feldman (@BFeldmanCBS ?) tweeted a picture of theirs at the end of last week—Friday maybe?
I could see the idea of a waterfall in the rehab area being relaxing etc. Btw, why is it that Alabama even though it makes so much money on athletics, still accepts subsidies?
