If you're talking about the mental focus side of it you're dang right he's worried about it. It can cost you games and it definitely has been a problem for our team. Go outside the SEC on Saturdays and watch how many games that are played on Saturday take a turn for the worse for one team because the team wasn't mentally prepared or didn't stay mentally focused. It's a problem for a lot of coaches. Especially when you're dealing with 18-22 college kids.

The question I think buzzard has as well as most "reasonable" Bama fans is what team will show up the rest of the season. The one that played FLAWLESS football with flawless playcalling, or the one that played really sloppily and had mental lapses in the 2nd half?

That will determine their season. Being ranked #2 is premature ejaculation....er conjecture.

Right on islstl. The polls are a weekly grade of the past. Doesn't give any indication what you'll do the next week. Just ask USC, Georgia & Florida. Bama has the talent to play well but have they progressed enough mentally to sustain it? That is the next hurdle. We've solved a lot of talent issues over the last two recruiting classes (2007 & 2008). But being that talent is still young and inexperienced (to some degree) the possibility of a let down is still there until we prove otherwise. But I am very pleased with our progress.

they also killed auburn. they lost to UT and USC too but that was early and they were clearly a young team that became much better.

its impossible to know how different the game would have been if they had not lost their best OL and DL. maybe they would have made it competitive.

like i said, bama is in full recovery, but we should not overstate what happened. UGA is overrated a bit. Bama took advantage of tons of UGA errors.

Can Bama beat LSU? They should've beat LSU last year. Certainly they will seal the deal if LSU plays poorly.

you understated their win quite a bit. if LSU was up 31-0 on any top 5 team in the first half, I think the last thing you will be doing is saying the other team gave it to us.

some perspectives are quite biased depending on the view.

didn't intend to. just intended to add some perspective. i give bama respect. but in perspective.

and you're incorrect. i don't hyperventilate about stompings achieved thru opponent ineptness.

you'd be hard-pressed to find a top 5 team down 31-0 in the first half. for a reason.

it just doesnt happen. UGA was manhandled at the line on both sides which caused the ineptness.

and the paid refs of course.

Trust me......Bama is going to run into a buzz saw against LSU during their 'visit' at Tiger Stadium.

Listen carefully. For years this match up has been a tight game. This year this game is going to be like Bama and Georgia.

Bama is going to fall apart in this game with us. Even if we lose to Florida AND Georgia beforehand........the beat down for the first time in years against Alabama is going to be near embarrassing.

Let's revisit my post after the game.
