Just watched the Bama/UGA game. Couple of cheap observations, if a bit late. Bama - Wilson is still average. J. Jones is NOT average. Bama has good talent but no depth. But they are clearly in recovery and doing well. UGA - lost because of mistakes, not because of Bama. Ole Miss would've beat Georgia in that first half. Georgia's defense looks completely beatable. O-ver-rate-ted...clap-clap-clap-clap-----clap-clap.
Bama domintaed at the line, the same thing we do to people. I know you said Georgia lost it, but that wasn't the case. Great play calling if you ask me. In order for a team to lose the game Bama would have looked average, and that didn't happen. Bama may lose every game from here on out but they dominated that first half. You really can't spin it. If people think Georgia is an average team when we play them then they are in for a surprise.
What we have here is simple. Georgia came into the season, after an impressive finish to last season, over-ranked. It happens every year at USC. We should be used to it. Georgia has looked pedestrian at times against SEC opponents, which incredibly. They still have a bunch of weapons, and I think this Bama game is the catalyst to really piss them off and get them playing, Much like last years Tennessee game. I anticipate they will be a much improved ball club over the next few weeks. As far as Bama goes... Yes, they hands down played the best half of a game in college football last week and beat a highly ranked UGA team. They had a Red Hot start last year, beating a highly ranked UGA team, but losing to a much inferior Flarida State team the following game. (I remember cheering on the seminoles while listening to the game in my truck!) So don't be suprised if the boys at ESPN get it wrong again. I smell an upset a brewin' in Lexington.
Yep, uga is way overated and overranked. They beat Florida last year in a weird game. Won against a few mediocre teams after that. Crushed a weak Hawaii in the bowl and everyone thought they were world beaters. UGA is still a dangerous opponent but they do not have the lines to match up with the big boys. I see at least two more losses this season for them.
Sorry, but Bama did not beat Uga last year. Remember Stafford throwing the winning touchdown in the corner to win? And the game this week is not in Lexington, but in T-town.
Wow! My bad. You are correct on both counts! I did forget about that Stafford TD. I guess it just felt like a UGA loss to me... As far as lexington, there is a misprint on my schedule. Thanks for looking out. Still feel like UK is going to bite em on the butt though!!
No doubt the bluecats will be ready for them. Will be a real test for Kentucky's defense. Just not sure Kentucky has enough offense. I say this should be the closest game of the year so far, for Alabama.
