LSU needs to be more worried about Ole Miss then what Alabama and Florida are up to. Ole Miss is going to be a little tougher then Troy.

Really? I don't think the difference is that much. Maybe 20 spots or so, but not that much.

Bama did have some weak OOC games - Ark. St., Tulane and Western Kentucky. Clemson is at 5-5, but was #9 when Bama played them in the first week.

Bama beat Georgia at Georgia, LSU in Tiger Stadium, Kentucky & Ole Miss at home, etc.

Florida had Miami, Hawaii and will play The Citadel and Florida St at FSU. Hawaii's pretty crappy since they lost their QB from last year and The Citadel speaks for itself. Miami and FSU are tough even in down years because those are rivalries. Both of them are decent (7-3) this year, but not anything special.

Florida beat LSU in the Swamp, Georgia in Jacksonville, Kentucky & South Carolina at home and Vandy on the road.

Florida's schedule is a little tougher overall with the # of quality teams they have to play, but nothing drastic as far as I can see.

It's one of those seasons where you can't judge an opposing team by its name..

I think it was the week before the LSU vs Bama game.. Bama had only played 3 teams with winning records. [UK, Ole Miss, UGA].

Their schedule is weak. They should be thanking UF and LSU for the reputation they earned the SEC these last few seasons. :crystal::crystal::crystal:

Bama has had one very impressive half of football this season and the media took off and ran with it. Plain and simple.

Things will be straightened out against Florida which will make Bama appear to be a 8-4 team much more so than an 11-1 team. Trust.

Well and here in lies the basic problem of the whole system... Yes Alabama has won all of their games.

BUT if we voted today amongst all real college football fans... and we threw op one of those fancy ESPN graphics depicting who the nation is voting for... the only state that would be red would be? Wait for it...........................

Alabama and every body else thinks Florida will handle bama in the SEC CG and go on to probably another dominant SEC performance in the NCG.

So see the problem with the system... nobody votes based on who they REALLY think the best is. These College administrators and proponents of the BCS and the bowl games WANT you to vote this way b/c it goes along with their mantra "College Football has the most exciting regular season of all sports" which is great... except that's not what people want

Oh, I don't think their schedule is strong, I just don't think Florida's is much better. It's better, but not by as much as those rankings say. There are not a lot of dominant teams this year. A look at the top 25 will tell you that much. So this year, just winning the game is what matters.

Bama beat the same high ranked teams in conference that Florida beat (except Bama beat them both on the road) and didn't lose to Ole Miss. Florida has beaten 3 currently ranked teams and Bama has beaten 2.

If you look at all those teams right behind Bama (Texas Tech, OU, Texas, USC, etc.), the schedules are pretty similar as far as strength goes.

At least Downtown is showing some sense here...

Listen, it's not Alabama's fault that nearly everyone on the schedule was overrated this year. Before this year, everyone was talking about how brutal the schedule was with most of the tough games being on the road. Now the games on the road were pretty much runaways (except for the game against you guys). Isn't that backwards? We played our home games pretty close with lesser competition, but whipped our oppoments in their house (and of course 1 neutral site).

So what if Alabama gets beat by Florida? You act as if this season will be a failure and we will appear to be an 8-4 team. This is bologna. In every hyped game this season where Alabama seemed to not have a chance, these players have come out and punched the opposition in the mouth from the oppening kick. We have absolutely ruled the lines of scrimmage and i'm not sure if you've noticed, but we're a run first team. With the new clock rules and a run first team, you're not going to be so flashy and put a lot of points up--yet we still average 30+.

They have done what they needed to do in every game this year. Confidence goes a long wany and this team is loaded with it.

Its stupid because if UF beats Bama by 1 point, everyone will talk about how they knew UF would win and how Bama "looks like an 8-4 team now", but I have a strange feeling that if they win, there will be talk about either the refs or luck, or that Florida "gave them gifts"--does that sound familiar?

No respect...I think that it will stay that way even if we happen to win the MNCG. Typical of a fanbase that.........nevermind. :dis:

We know it's not Bamas 'fault'. It's just how it is. You've struggled against the 3/4 teams you've played that have winning records [UK, Ole Miss, LSU].. and by struggle I meant 'almost lost'.

Beating 7 teams with losing records isn't exactly impressive. It's Penn St/USC all over again. Just in the SEC :hihi:

This thread is reminding me of the GA Dog thread about their game with Florida. He just never wanted to believe...

Anyway, on the topic of this thread.... Seeing Bama play a few times now, I think they are pretty good but definitely not great. And there have been tons of pretty good teams ranked number one (OSU, USC).

I think there is little chance that Bama beats Florida. But to go from losing to ULM last year to winning the SEC West this year, I do have to agree that it is a very successful year for them.
