And we were an average qb away in 2007 from adding another loss to y'alls eventual two loss season and keeping y'all from New Awlins.

You always need a little luck to go all the way. It was LSU's "lucky year" in 2007. :yelwink2:

Bama reminds me of a certain SEC team last season...without the losses. Not saying the worst #1 of either team but I don't see the relevance. You win 10 games, ugly or not, and you deserve it. Are they number 1 because of Saban? Yes...both on the field coaching and the eyes of those voting every week looking to anoint him king. Any other coach at Bama in the same situation and they would not be #1 until Penn St and Texas Tech loses.

This sounds a bit like sour grapes to me.

Also, it's a bit hypocritical considering we were the first two loss team to win a national championship in half a century.

Bama deserves credit. They're having a great season and I would take them over most of the teams in the top 10. Stop being blind homers...

You're exactly right. And to be honest we're not the number #1 team in the nation. I'd say we're around five or six. There are a lot of good teams in the top ten but if we keep winning I keep liking our chances.

I think if Texas Tech beats Oklahoma next week, they jump Bama for the #1 spot. Their wins would be more impressive, at least to me. I think Oklahoma wins the game this weekend, however. I put them and Florida as the best two teams at this point in time, and I'd put my money on those two playing for it all.

I hope Florida beats Bama just do I don't have to see Tebow crying on TV again. :)

Just got home from Ttown and I guess I can give my .02 real quick...

I dont think we are playing like the best team in college football. Florida is. To say that we are the worst #1 ever is just lame. As stated already, there have been plenty of #1's throughout the years and we're still winning.

Alabama has done everything that they have had to do. They are 11-0 and some may say that they have struggled to beat this team and this team and blah blah blah. Struggles or not, they are still undefeated and frankly, haven't been behind much this year. The debate on Alabama being JUST a first half team has been squashed also. Since the OM game, Alabama has outscored their opponents 70-30 in the 2nd half.

True, we dont have all the razzle dazzle that Florida and Texas Tech have on offense, but we have an offense that grinds on the clock and forces the other team to play OUR game. The defense is a bend but dont break type, but when it comes down to 3rd downs and red-zone, we're pretty damn good.

It seems like before every game, opposing fans keep saying that we will be beaten badly. It happened with Clemson and Georgia. The whole nation gave Bama 0 credit and no chance to win those games. How did Bama begin those games? They came out on fire. The us against the world mentality seems to be a staple with this years team. The players on this team have really responded well to the criticism. It's still there though and nobody in the world believes that Alabama can beat Florida.

I will be the first to give Florida every bit of credit they deserve. They are damn good and have just been killing people. Let me ask you guys a queation though....IF Alabama does beat them in the SECCG, what will be the excuse then? Tebow didn't have a good game or Florida didn't do this or that...Will any of you give Bama credit, or will it just be yet another fluke?

Sports isn't always about who has the most talent. Sometimes....Just sometimes, the teams that have the will to win and the heart and desire to be a champion prevail. I think that this team has bought into it and their confidence level is sky high. They love being the underdogs so they can prove the nation wrong yet again.

I'm not ready to label Florida the SEC Champs yet. I still think that this team can play with anyone in the country. Now, I may be sippin a little of the kool-aid, but they have proved to me that they are ready to play. Now they may get beaten by Florida (I think it's possible, I dont however think it will be another blowout) but does that mean the season is a failure? No.

12-1 with a trip to the Sugar Bowl was literally unthinkable for Alabama before the season for everyone and even the biggest homers Alabama has. I'm proud of this team and I think they have done a fine job and I'm excited for next year.

Doubt Alabama the rest of the way. They like it...

Also, this year reminds many Bama fans of the '92 season when Bama squeaked by everyone with Jay Barker and his very average offense and was given no chance in hell to beat Heisman winner Gino Torretta and that high powered Miami offense. We fans can only hope this year plays out like that....

    Roll Tide.

No, not the worst #1 ever. Still, unless UF gets some devastating injuries vs. Citadel and Florida State, Alabama is gonna get smoked by the Gators.

Bama just doesn't have the speed to keep up. No one does, now that Demps and Moody are in the backfield.

And the Gator D reminds me of the LSU D of 2003. Nasty.

Don't forget the Gators have the most dangerous return man in the nation in Brandon James.

That makes a very well-rounded team. Bama is strong and impressive, but the Gators are just phenomenal.

I'm not one of your stereotypical Nick Saban haters. In fact, I really don't understand all the negative energy there.

But I'm sure I'll giggle a little on the night of December 6th when I see Coach Nick's face looking at a scoreboard that shows his #1 team getting demolished by 3 touchdowns or more. :)

We will treat him the same way we did Holiday. PJ Fitzgerald has done one hell of a job for us punting. I think that was a MAJOR factor in the game against you guys.

No doubt Florida has more speed. That's a given....But didnt' they have more speed than Meeeechigan last year???

I'm glad you're so confident. But it's gonna make the let-down hurt more.

Last year, an injured Tebow was Florida's 1st option on offense. A dinged-up Harvin was option #2. There was no other option.

This year the Gators have more options than anyone can deal with. It took them four-and-a-half games to discover how to use them all, but once they did . . . good God!

And let me tell you, my Tuscaloosa friend. I hate Florida. Just in case you think my commentary is biased. :eek:ldskule:
