Bama will have to be spot on in every aspect to beat UF. They are playing lights out right now and appear to be unstoppable. If I'm being objective I'd say UF wins. But even then Bama is still a pretty dang good team. It's just our strength isn't on the offensive side of the ball but rather defensive and special teams.

What I don't like for Bama's sake is Saban being so conservative and not letting JPW make some plays.

Tonight was again more of the same.

You have a dynamic receiver in Jones.

Not many chances to win a NC, this is obviously a good chance, but the time will come for JPW to make plays or come from behind and he won't be prepared to do so because of the conservative play all year long restricted his play. Ironically the gameplan that gets you to where you wanted to be will more than likely be your downfall when facing Florida.

The more JPW throws the worse he gets. Plain and simple and throwing it more doesn't help him get better at it. We've tried that. JPW doesn't see the field very well. He struggles MIGHTILY with his progressions, locking onto ONE receiver and tending to throw to the same area of the field (outer hash marks toward the sidelines). In his three years as a starter he's not been able to break these habits. Forcing him to do it now will only put the team in bad situations.

Saban isn't as conservative as many might think. He desperately wants to open the offense up and use the plethera of talent we have at WR. We've got a ton of it. But the trigger man has to know how to get it to them. So Saban is working with what he has and playing toward the strengths of the team. Next season you'll probably see a more open offense but not this season.

You mean locking-in-on-a-single-receiver-syndrome doesn't go away after 1 year?

Geezum. Lord help us all. :hihi:

It hasn't for us. No one in the country knows how much talent we have at the wr position because they don't get the ball thrown to them. I'm not sure why it's been so hard for JPW to learn. In the SEC the players are so fast and quick no qb can lock onto receivers and expect to have success. They've got to be able to go through their progressions and find the best option.

Well then you can understand our frustration this year and of course you're probably flashing back to JPW a year or 2 back when Lee threw those 4 picks against you guys.

I don't have a problem with Bama being # 1. It's the BCS and the system will sort them out in a few weeks... one way or the other.
They are there primarily, imo, because of all the early season hype laid on the conference.... and all things said, the conference has struggled with the hype.

Florida appears to be significantly better than they were last year. Bama is obviously better than last year, but they don't appear to be anywhere as good as the Gators. Vandy and Ole Miss appear to be moderately better than a year ago... after that I can't think of another SEC team that is better this year than last.

(Don't get me wrong... I could make the same comparison with some of the other conferences... it's just what it is... I also think Florida looks like they could beat anyone at this point.)

Bama appears to be at the same level as Penn State, both have great special teams, good defenses. Bama also has Saban... and over time his style produces tough teams, but close games... it has been his m/o since he was at Michigan State. It's showing up now... again.

All that said, why knock Bama? We've had two loss teams win the NC , haven't we?

Man your team gets to the big dance last year with 2 sec loses and your bitching about a 11-0 bama team? Maybe if lsu, georgia, clemson, tennessee, ole miss and arkansas had lived up to press clippings and won a few more games we wouldn't be viewed with such scorn. Hey, we can't help the fact that the sec west sucks big time this year.Or maybe bama just might have something to do with that.

11-0 record in SEC deserves #1 ranking. As much as it pains to say this, congrats to Bama and Saban. It's Bama lucky year. LSU and Auburn are having down year. Trust me.. we were average QB away from going back to Atlanta this year.
