It'll be three in a row, easily, for the SEC. OU can't hang with Florida. Especially if Harvin is 100 percent. (Which presumably he will be after a month of healing.) Tim Tebow is the best player in America. There shouldn't be a debate about the Heisman. Now the only three questions that matter on this forum: (1) What will LSU do in their bowl game? (2) Who will be their new DC, and when will he be announced? (3) Will LSU make the kind of turn around necessary to compete with the likes of Florida next year? ldskule:
Makes me wonder, though... if and when Tebow leaves, how will Meyer work out? Will most of his success be seen as being contributed primarily to Tebow, or will he continue to be a national contender? I think he'll continue to do well, but Tebow isn't just some guy you replace.
We also will have a very strong defensively sound Bama team to play. Hopefully (2) will work out very well in our favor and help ease the pressures off of our O in those games.
This season will come back to bite Saban big time next year. Bama is certainly going to lose 4 or 5 games next season with an untested QB, their big out of this world O-lineman gone and that fantastic safety as well. So if you go from a 1 loss season to a 5 loss season, then the 1 loss season is quickly forgotten end erased. I don't envy the position that Saban is in going into 09. If they lose to Utah in the Sugar, the season will be forgotten before 09 even starts.
As much as I can't stand him, I appreciate Saban's honesty (pfff... I know) in this press conference. He admitted what went wrong without throwing anyone under the bus and didn't make it sound like he won the game. I like how Miles doesn't throw anyone under the bus, but all the BS gets old.
Saban actually took the blame for the loss. He said they should have kicked the FG instead of faked it based on the formation by Florida on that play. Mental error. He seemed pretty empty inside. Like someone just ripped his soul from him. I assume that would be some Bama boosters.
