So when I say, Saban loses games he shouldn't lose and you say, "This appears to be just another way for people to try to discount the success Saban had at LSU" are your or are you not refuting what I am saying. Did you ever actually say it? No, not in as many words but you certainly argued like hell against me. I'm done with this thread.
Bama doesn't seem so mighty, do they? :hihi: :hihi: :hihi:    From Wikiedia: "Tradition has it that when Lord Cornwallis surrendered at the Siege of Yorktown (1781) the British band played this tune, although there is no conclusive evidence to support this. http://www.contemplator.com/midimusic/worldtur.mid
ESPN said "Alabama suffered a humiliating loss to Louisiana Monroe", Mark May said "how much are they paying the coach, $4 million? Not getting any short term dividends for that money". Lightning doesn't necessarily strike twice. Les should consider what he has here at LSU. LSU should consider what we have in Les, and give that man a raise.
It's easy to take one line out of a paragraph and try to make a point of it. I think it is also useless to use things out of context. His coaching ability was in question. That is why I posted... "Hey, call me looney. This appears to be just another way for people to try to discount the success Saban had at LSU. "Oh, he won us two SECC's and an MNC but he lost games he shouldn't and therefore his coaching ability is in question." People blame games on the refs calls, and occasionally, occasionally, (IE: OU vs Boise State last year) that is the case. But, more often than not, it is cases where people are reaching." I don't think it is too much to ask when it's requested to take things in context.
Independence Bowl for Bama? Just what Nick wanted... a .500 record and a trip to Louisiana for a bowl game. It will probably be the only time in history that the Independence Bowl crowd has more cheers for the Big 12 entry.
Salary wise Miles hits pay dirt if he brings LSU to the NC game and even more if he (the team) wins. If I were him (after Mich. loses today)I would be saying. "I think I can live down here". His family has NEVER had it so well money wise as they do now and I will bet you that his wife and kids are saying "Don't blow this". Miles may be "different" but he ain't stupid. Just my thought.:geaux:
Bama gave Saban all that money before Saban ever coached a down there. That was the first mistake, you gotta let your coaches earn their $$ THEN give them big raises and contract extensions. With Miles, money is obviously not a big issue because he seems like a humble man and is willing to earn his money the real way....by winning. And that starts this year with some :crystal::crystal:
