No, you should fire him for losing to ULM at home while coaching alabama and losing to UAB at home while coaching LSU
Mongol General: Hao! Dai ye! We won again! This is good, but what is best in life? Mongol: The open steppe, fleet horse, falcons at your wrist, and the wind in your hair. Mongol General: Wrong! Conan! What is best in life? Conan: To crush your enemies, see them driven before you, and to hear the lamentation of their women. Mongol General: That is good! That is good.
The game was too close to declare a clearcut superior team. If we played 10 times, who knows who would win more games? Unfortunately for them, we don't play 10 times and we won the game that mattered.
I think some people get too excited over quotes. I dont at all fault Maze or even Hanks for what he said. He said what he felt. Lets be honest here, Bama did out play LSU in all facets but one. If they had a decent kicker they win this game. Their lines outplayed LSU. They moved the ball fairly well but LSU did stiffen up when they got close. Both teams had two turnovers. It was the special teams that won it for LSU. So I dont at all see anything wrong with what he said. He wants the rematch. What competitor wouldnt have a sour taste after a loss like that.
Man, it's SO infuriating reading the comments posted under the ESPN article in the first poles. Comments like: Most of them think that, because there was only 15 pts scored and no TDs that neither team is as good as advertised. Really? They cannot grasp the concept that these defenses are SO good that they make the offense look bad. They're completely ignoring that we average nearly 40pts per game. Bunch of SEC hating jack holes. Guess I'll quit reading them before my blood pressure goes through the roof.
Yeah our O did look high school. Bama moved the ball well but was stalled when they got close. All that said, D wins championships. Ill take a great D any day over a prolific O like the Big 12 teams have. How many titles have they won? Five in a row for the SEC, based on D, not O.
Totally disagree with this. Look at the rushing stats and that will tell you which lines played better. LSU 148 to Bama's 96 - 18 of which came on TRs first run of the game. They broke off some big runs here/there, but bottom line is - not only did we hold TR to under 100yrs, no TD and 3 yards per carry, but we held their whole team, including heir apparent Lacey to under 100 yrds. I'd say our D-line outplayed theirs.
