The Bama boards are asking the same thing. They didn't expect to sign any more quarterbacks this year, so speculation is that they are either strategically trying to keep LSU from getting a top quarterback, knowing that LSU is only a quarterback away from a BCS bowl game next year. Or . . . one of their quarterback commits is waffling and Saban is insuring himself against the possibility that he bolts.
FWIW, one of my Bama friends told me that he hears Simms is unhappy with being #3 and is thinking about leaving. :geaux:
Doesn't really matter to be honest, Mettenberger discussed that, posted by Bhelm in the other thread... he's narrowed it down to US and A&M... comments about Bamas QB depth has him not considering them. Besides, he's almost locked to be our starter next year if he's as good as they say.
Two more SEC offers came in today: Arkansas and I think it was Ole Miss, but I'm not sure. I don't think it changes anything; it's still LSU and Texas A&M. There are going to be more offers but don't get too worried. Any way I can possibly look at it, LSU is the best fit.
