I just visited tidefans.com. They are in complete chaos with their football team and Saban. I don't think I have ever seen so many threads of pure frustration. I would not call it a meltdown. I just wonder what will happen if Auburn puts their foot on Bama's throat and blows them out like 44-0. I'm not sure Saban has the patience and self restraint to handle a complete Bama meltdown if Auburn gives Bama a beat down. Of course if Bama beats Auburn by must 1 point Saban will be carried off in a Gold Chariot. You just gotta love Alabama football! :thumb:
In his press conference, it was almost like Saban was threatening the media that he would bolt if they didnt chill out...just an observation.
I live in Nashville and there are a lot of Bama fans up here that call in daily to sports radio programs. The biggest concern that keeps getting mentioned is will Saban lose his team. Man, this years Iron Bowl has so much drama attached to it for two teams just playing for lower bowl positioning. Will this be 6 in a row if Auburn wins?
I am assuming Bama will not got to a Bowl if they lose to Auburn. It is going to be hard with 4 losses to end the season unless proximity to a lower bowl gets them in.
Not a chance. 1. Our offense isn't good enough to put up 44 points on an average team. 2. Auburn hasn't beaten Bama by more that 10 points in about 30+ years 3. The first rule about Iron Bowl is to throw the record books out the window. It's a blood feud and typically a defensive, smashmouth attempt to bring an equitable opponent into submission. (much like the 2005 LSU-AU game). There's a reason why they hold the Iron Bowl on the final week of the regular season ..... it takes weeks for the two teams to lick their wounds and heal up. If I weren't an Auburn loyalist, I'd bet the ranch on Bama and the points ..... that's about as stone-cold a lead-pipe-cinch as you'll see this season. But i must say this, TenTex, ..... I love your enthusiasm, my brutha'
Don't you think this is a different year. You have Saban who has never coached in an Iron Bowl. He's throwing his players under the bus. It's his desperate attempt to rally his players for this weekend. If it back fires and he loses his team it could be an Auburn blowout? Does Auburn understand what a dominate Bama loss to Auburn would mean to Bama and Saban's rebuilding effort? Not to mention recruiting for Auburn.
saban knows something about coaching, and losing the team is not good form. But to lose to ULM like they did, I wonder what's really going on over there, in light of them playing a good game against LSU. Wonders never cease.
