Just fueling the hate, brother. Please, contribute however you see fit. Got a special hate week thread lined up for Florida. They, hands down, have topped the list this year and likely the next 2. But don't let that fool you, gump hate week is tradition and in the SEC, we loves us some tradition.
Thanks! Just hope you guys are saving something for the Gators. You know how much tunnel vision this game can cause? Saban said he considers yall to be undefeated, in that it appears to be a different team during the Ed O regime. But we like our chances too. Besides, have you seen the overall record the last 45 years in Tiger Stadium between these teams? (not rhetorical.)
This week, the Gators and the last 45 years are irrelevant. Like I told people who were discussing 'Bama the week of the Ole Miss game, the only thing that matters is the next opponent. Have to take "the gauntlet" one game at a time.
It was interesting that Sumlin actually took his case to the home office. They basically told him to quit bothering them until he had something legit. What I fear most is no one, honestly, knows what targeting is. The player has to go sit when told to go sit. The South Carolina d-back that was ejected against 10essee was baffling to one and all, except for the SEC office. I've given up on there being any uniformity in the call. Kinda like what the completed catch in the NFL has gone through.
But is the football team looking at it as irrelevant? They have brought up the streak numerous times in their comments. Bama just went through some of this with arkansas and 10essee. They make it about this one game and watching the emotional toll it takes in the aftermath is amazing. But this year, if there ever was a time for LSU to save something in the tank for the home stretch, it is the back portion of your schedule.
The Streak? I think that what refer to 5 straight going back to the BCSCG, not 45 years. Doubt any of them attach any relevance to what happened when Bert Jones squared off against Richard Todd. As for "saving something" for next week, that only assures that - unless you're playing Presbyterian - you lose your most important game, which is always the next one.
