I don't believe you.:rolleye33: Assuming you are a bammer fan I bet you really enjoyed it when Coach Fran didn't have success at Texas ATM. I also think most bammer fans including you enjoyed the implosion at Auburn this year. You see most people can relate when a coach leaves your school or a professional team and goes to coach at a rival school or pro team. Notice I said pro team, it doesn't matter whether Nick left LSU to coach at Alabama or Miami, the end result is the same and doesn't matter. I was actually embarrassed for you for a while but then found it amusing. Why, because Nick Saban lost a few he should've never lost while at LSU. History is on my side! Btw, You guys should've hired the referees from the basketball game on Saturday for the Sugar Bowl. They would've found a way to win that one for you just like they did against the LSU basketball team!
I graduated from Cecilia and now live in Breaux Bridge, so I pretty much keep my mouth shut during the season.
I never really considered LSU a hated rival. They are in the West as is Bama but I always thought of LSU as another SEC west school that Bama had to compete with. In my opinion Bamas biggest rivals are #1 Auburn #2 Tennessee After that everyone else is pretty much on even ground. Has Bama always been LSU's " most hated rival " or is this just since Saban became the coach? Maybe it is because LSU does not have an instate rival. If someone can fill me in on why all the hatred I would like know. Maybe all of this goes back further then my days. I graduated from , yes Bama in 1993, and I can honestly say that I have never got the sense from any fellow Alumni or regular fans that LSU is a hated rival. You guys are another game on the schedule and yes due to LSU's recent success I think Bama fans look forward to the challenge of playing them but thats about where it ends. Is this hatred the general feeling of all LSU fans or maybe just of a few people on this board with an axe to grind. I have tailgated with many an LSU fan and never got the sense they hated me. Actually we all got along great, drank some beer, ate some good food and enjoyed eachothers company. I love good spirted competion but I do not judge a person harshly because he graduted from or happens to route for a certain school. My nephew just graduated from LSU law, his fiance was a .. I'm not sure what there oficial name is, not a cheerleader but more of a majorette. Should I cross them off my Christmas list and skip the wedding? But hey what do I know my life revolves around beer, barbaque and football.
Bama and LSU fans have the same feelings about each other if you compare LSU and Bama boards. Bama is another SEC team we enjoy playing just as you feel about LSU. Since LSU has no real rival, each fan has their own team that they love to hate, it is not just Bama. So why are you questioning LSU's hate for Bama on a internet board when you have real life experiences with LSU fans that tell you differently???
I think a lot of LSU fan's have something of a beef with Saban. Seeing him on Bama's sideline bugs me, and I can't even give a rational explanation of why. He was a great coach for LSU who had his limitations, but when he decided to coach for Bama he pretty much sold his ties to LSU for a bucket of gold. It irks me that we lost to you guys this season in football and now in basketball as well. Before Saban, Bama came off as a bit pretentious and living in the past with their 13 or so MNCs, but I can't say I hated Bama.
Whats interesting is that other than maybe a couple of families its all the same people. My father's family is from Grand Anse. One of the first friends I made at LSU was a football player I competed against for years. I actually played a joke on him and called him pretending to be an LSU football coach asking him to walk on! We had alot fun with that. I still see him every now and then.
I thought I covered it earlier, maybe you didn't read my post...but...We don't hate the fans of bama, just the athletics of bama. You still have it wrong...root, root, root for the home team! I used to have a route delivering milk, but I quit that job.
who was that? That's why the rivalry is so intense. The people are pretty much the same, just route for different teams. I'm going watch the ufc fights at hooters saturday with a couple of BB grads.
First of all you never answered my question and that would've answered yours. I really don't see anyone using the word hate to much but you. I think that word is too strong. I would say that I don't like bama as much since our old ball coach is there. I don't hate bama but I don't like them either. I don't care if they win every game as long as we beat them in whatever sport there is. I don't care if they lose every game in every sport either. I will be happy once Nick Saban bolts from bama to coach at West Virginia or some place up north where he is from. I have relatives that are fans of both bama and auburn. I get along just fine with them. I could probably tail gate with them or anyone else but when it comes to the game starting STAY AWAY from me unless you are an LSU fan!
