Not a big surprise. LSU-Alabama to Kickoff at 2:30 p.m. on CBS - LSUsports.net - The Official Web Site of LSU Tigers Athletics
I'm not what the rules are with the TV contracts between the SEC, CBS and ESPN. They should have made this a prime time game with National coverage.
From what I understand, CBS only gets one Primetime game a year. So would you have rathered LSU-UF been a day game in TS? Maybe now with hindsight but definitely not at the time.
IIRC, CBS gets first pick at the games. Like mobius said, I think they only get one primetime game a year though. ESPN picks 2nd, then SEC Network picks, and I'm not sure after that since some games may come on ESPNU.
CBS still gets first pick. In general they get one or two primetime games a year. Now that the SEC has their new deal with ESPN, all other games are broadcast on some kind of ESPN affiliate... even if it is only 360. The SEC Network for the 11:30 games is an ESPN broadcast picked up by different stations depending on where you are (Local CBS picks it up in Baton Rouge). That being said, each school gets one payperview game per season (Tulane for us this year) where a certain area is payperview and then outside that area it is on in some kind of way with ESPN (This week 360). Then there are the OCC games where whoever's the home school affliation will has first broadcast rights(UF - FSU game is broadcast by ABC when FSU is home team).
