That was the only way they could get ESPN to pay big bucks for the other 2 games. The Sec made the best deals in history when these contracts were signed and the next round will be incredible.

The Tigers will sleep well after an evening of gorging themselves on gump-gumbeaux.

This...we don't have a single night SEC game in Tiger Stadium all season...yet CBS mortgages the farm to move the Alabama/LSU game to a night game??? Sure I know why they did it, but this is advantage for Alabama. We all know it is not and advantage on paper, but as fans...we know it is.

This is not good for LSU in my opinion. I would have much rather it been at 2:30 at their place.

I don't know, night football is LSU tradition not Gump. Even though we have played only two night games (wasn't WVU at nigt?) it is in our team's natural schedule. On the other hand the gumpers play in the afternoon as a rule.
The fans will be loud and fired up at first but if they aren't used to it they will be played out in the second half and not as loud.

My feeling is that it is a positive for the Tigers.

I think it serves LSU well.

    I am all for it.

The new contracts were signed in 2008 for CBS and 2009 for ESPN.

I know the reason behind WHY the SEC did it. It's stupid because you're asking your biggest games to be played in the early afternoon instead of a night game everyone would be watching.

The ESPN deal needed to be made. It basically gave people access to almost every single SEC game. It was a good move.

The CBS deal should just be tweaked to not allow the same team to be featured 4 weeks in a row. You're taking all their night games and making them afternoons.

I'm really hoping that once the SEC expands they renegotiate the deals and are able to find a way to let teams still play some night games.

This helps Bama because they are the home team with access to their facilities during the day. Despite the fact that both teams spend the night before at a hotel. You're the visting team stuck in the hotel all day waiting to board the bus to the game.
