Hello Tiger fans….. Just want to give my take on this whole deal of having to play Alabama again. To the fans and the players reading. Remember while LSU was playing there arses off to beat GA in the SECCG. BAMA players were sitting home watching and eating Gump chips and dip laughing cause we were playing for SEC title and they knew they were getting in the BCS NCG no matter what the outcome. Me as a one time player would be extra motivated to whip there arses because LSU goes 13-0, wins the west and the SEC and then gets to the BCS NCG and then going to let BAMA walk away with the BCS title after we beat them at home and they did not even win the West Division and or SEC Title. Disgusting ! Time to take care of business, put them away early and score on them as much as possible. Bama does not deserve a re-match. They did not win the West or the SEC Title. For them to walk away with the BCS after what LSU did to get there will not happen. LSU players should be pissed and they need to show the world they are the best team of 2011 and maybe best ever. and the debate continues. I don't think they deserve sh!t either, but they are the 2nd best team in the country, and according to the system we play in, are more deserving than any other team out there. I do think that this years outcome will lay the foundation for a play off system, or at least a plus one. The critics and supporters of the bowl games can no longer make the argument that the regular season matters and every game matters, when obviously 11/5/11 meant nothing in the grand scheme of things. Alot of people out there that have no rooting interest are disgusted because they want to see RG3 type scores, which in my opinion is ok to watch, but the first matchup between LSU and Bama was one of the greatest games I have ever watched. If you can't appreciate 2 stellar defenses playing each other, then you aren't a football fan, and maybe you should just start watching the CFL or Arena football.
We really need to let this go, we're playing the gumps and we need to embrace the opportunity. Why should we be pissed? Is that gonna change anything?
nope, won't change a damn thing, and is actually setting us up to look like Auburn and Alabama whiner fans. While I still think Bama doesn't deserve sh!t, im glad it turned out this way, it sets a precedent, and who knows when LSU could be the beneficiary of something like this. Now if we are ever a 1 loss team, and lose a close game to the eventual SEC champ, we can argue that we belong in the national championship game.
I saw some of the players like Will Blackwell openly say on TV say that Bama didn't deserve to be there last week...which is concerning because it's been announced for 3 weeks already. I hope our players are not still complaining about it because it shows a lack of focus, but if used correctly like the OP said, we can channel it to finally shut the Bama fans/players up.
Believe me...as much as they act like the don't....Bama wanted to be playing in the sec championship.....That is the #1 Goal of ANY sec team, win an sec championship and it could very well lead to a BCS championship! You ask any team preseason what their goals are and they will ALL tell you to win an SEC title!
Just for sh!ts and giggles, would Bama be in this game if Georgia had beaten LSU in Atlanta? and by the way folks, take it from your head coach, he knew as soon as we won the game in november we would probably be playing them again, and he welcomes the challenge. So should we.
