I thought the same thing last night. I'm not a Bonds fan, but surprisingly is was a very classy and well put series of answers in the press room.
The flipside of this is that the average taxpayer should be horrified that our tax money is funding the government's obsession with this case. Beyond paying for food/shelter for Anderson, Federal attorneys (and associated resources) aren't cheap. If they need that ONE witness to even get an indictment, they've got no case at all. Nevertheless, they keep wasting OUR resources on it. And for what? Maybe this is part of their "war on drugs." We all know how well THAT'S going too. I'm sure Anderson will be provided for upon his release, as he rightfully should. And don't think he doesn't have a major book deal in the works, even if it doesn't include incriminating stuff in it. Hell, I'd be interested to hear the thoughts of a guy imprisoned due to a misguided persecution from the prosecution.
By all accounts, Barry is Jekyll and Hyde. One day he's intent on pissing off everyone in the room. The next, he's saying stuff like that about keeping the ball. And no, that's actually NOT steroids-related, as he was that way before getting to MLB. Of course, the media doesn't like guys like that. They'd rather a bona fide happy ass that's spouting sunshine and giving them all the time they want in the locker room. Hence, when Barry says something good, they tend to downplay it. Bunch of frauds.
