With the impending question as to whether Baker would take his official to FSU, Ryan Baker has ended all speculation as to whether he would entertain other schools. "I told the coaches at LSU when I committed that there was no question and that this was the place for me. I'm done with everything and my only visit will be to Baton Rouge when I enroll at LSU. I'm very blessed to be a part of such a prestigious program like LSU and I couldn't be more excited." Regarding his family tripping with him to LSU: "My Dad really loved it and to be honest, it felt like we were home. Our family bought as much LSU stuff as they could find because they knew in my heart that LSU is where I'm headed." Here's my favorite part: "We have a strong need at linebacker, so I'm going to be ready to fill that gap and contribute early. It's going to be a challenge, but I think I bring a furious hitting style and a lot of speed at the linebacker position that will help out the defense next year and for the years to come. However, I know it all starts with the work in the summer and I'm more than ready for it. I wish I could suit up right now." Coaches are telling him they remind them of Ali Highsmith. He plans on wearing #10 for his longtime idol Derrick Brooks. Not too shabby. He actually got a chance to hoist the trophy as he was at the game (on the LSU sidelines I presume). Miles turned to him and said "you're going to be holding up one of those for yourself in a few years". He plans to make a big impact his freshman season with the Tigers. I am loving hearing that. Let's get it on.
Can you imagine holding the BCS trophy as a high school kid after a championship. What a recruiting tool! I'm not sure if you meant Baker or his father held it, but either way Baker had to be blown away. Les should dust off the crystal football during recruiting. I can see it now. Les walking in to a recruits house with the crystal, "Hello, I'm Les Miles would you like to hold this. Go ahead pass it around to the rest of your family. Don't worry about breaking it, it's insured. Besides we have another just like it in the trophy case from a few year's ago." To which the recruit and possibly his father reply, "Les, you had me at "Hello".:lol::hihi::rofl::rofl::lol:
